Reaching for the Stars in Madagascar

Our history

haikintana members

Founded in 2015 by Mializo Razanakoto, Haikintana was born from a passion for bringing astronomy closer to the people of Madagascar. The journey began humbly on Facebook, where astronomy enthusiasts were inspired to explore the universe beyond our skies.

By 2016, Haikintana had evolved into a thriving community, welcoming students in the sciences and amateur astronomers alike. With the support of the Malagasy Association for the Promotion of Science (AMPS), the organization launched its first public outreach events, sparking curiosity and wonder across the island.

In 2018, Haikintana officially gained recognition as an association by the Malagasy government. Since then, it has continued to lead the way in promoting astronomy, sharing knowledge, and inspiring a new generation to look up and dream among the stars.
